Church of St Mary and St Michael2 | The Church of St Mary and St Michael is the Parish Church in New Ross. The foundation stone was laid in 1896 and it opened in 1902. Over the main door (outside) are reliefs of Mary, Christ the King, the New Ross coat of arms, Papal coat of arms and the Four Evangelists. The high altar of white marble portrays the Last Supper to the left of the tabernacle and the Prodigal Son to the right. The Sacred Heart, the Lamb of God and the Crown of Thorns are portrayed on the front of the altar. | |
